Thoughts For the Day

Happiness is so infectious once it gets about – Do not keep it to yourself but always give it out.
Happiness is catching.
How the joy germs thrive. If you’re feeling grateful just to be alive – don’t suppress your feelings.
Let them effervesce.
Start an epidemic, spreading happiness.

**********************

Never measure Time, but if you want a sum to do – count the many mercies that the Lord has granted you.
Count the boons and benefits, the things you’re thankful for.
Keep on adding to the list.
There’s always something more, something to be glad about whatever my betide, another item to be marked upon the credit side. Never measure out the miles as down life’s road you tread.
Do not count your birthdays up but count your friends instead.

Durrow Tidy Towns

Tidy Towns judging will take place in early June, so now is the time to start preparing window boxes and hanging baskets. We are asking all householders to put out flowers and keep kerbs and footpaths clean. The workers on the present FAS scheme are not allowed by the Trade Unions to clean the streets. Durrow Tidy Towns committee are in the process of approaching all business people in the town for donations which will be used to pay a local man to help keep the streets clean and litter collected, but one man cannot do it all on his own. So we ask the community to respond to our request, to keep footpaths and kerbs clean in your own area.
