Introducing Laois Rose 2019 entrant Lorna Campion from Durrow. Watch her introduction video above and read her profile below.

“My name is Lorna Campion. I am 24 years old. I live in a small picturesque town called Durrow in County Laois, which has a wonderful community spirit.

“As part of this great community, I am proud to be apart of The Harps Camogie Club, 3rd Laois Durrow Scouts, where I am a Cub Scouter, Venture Scouter and a Rover Scout. I am also involved in the Church Choir and volunteer at the Scarecrow Festival which is a fantastic event to be involved in.

“I am thrilled to be getting the chance to be involved in the Laois Rose this year as it’s something I’ve wanted to do since I was a child.

“I am extremely lucky to have work so close to home. I work for Seosamh Murphy in the Castle Arms Hotel here in the heart of Durrow, who also values community spirit. I really enjoy my job and it has helped me to come out of myself.

“One of my favorite things to do is to sing and play my guitar. I have been singing since I could talk and I’d love to peruse it further someday.”

The Laois Rose selection night takes place on Friday, April 19 in Castle Durrow.
