CULLOHILL COMMUNITY CENTRE: Following the AGM activities are up and running across many areas. Cards continue every Sunday night at 8.30pm with The Active Retirement Group, ICA, Flower Club, Bridge Club and many other groupings are using the facility also. Handball coaching sessions are running Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings with some β€˜outside’ help coming from form Paddy Donovan. An indoor soccer league is currently being planned to start next Friday, November 16th. There will be three separate leagues – Primary School (third to sixth classes) 7pm-8pm; Post-Primary (first to third years) 8pm-9pm and Post-Primary Senior Cycle/Adults 9pm-10pm. For 2019 plans are afoot to re-develop the Community Centre concentrating on meeting rooms and kitchen including removal of existing stage area to facilitate larger meeting rooms. In addition, it is proposed to extend the handball facility to include a kitchen/meeting room. This is being worked on in conjunction with the Community Council with the hope that substantial funding can be secured via the Leader Programme to support this development. Recently committee members called to households collecting memberships. All in the area were hugely supportive and many thanks to all for their generosity.
