After Easter.

The beautiful ceremonies surrounding the fast of Easter are over. Christ is alive and living among us. He is forever pleading for us to His Father. How are we feeling now that Easter is behind us? Are we more God – centred or just the same as if Easter had never been? Food for thought here. Think of the lovely readings we had in Church Holy Week and Easter Week. the activity of The Holy Spirit is a favourite subject in the Easter Liturgy. The Spirit is forever active in the world, in the church and in the soul. He will convince the world of it’s wickedness. He will manifest to all the fruitfulness of the Church, “The gates of hell shall not prevail against her.” He will convince the world of God’s certain judgement. One day all alone each one of us must face our just judge. The Holy Spirit is leading the world in triumph from age to age, and all those hostile to God will be forced to recognize their defeat.

In less than fifty days we will be celebrating the feast of Pentecost – the coming of the Spirit anew on all of us. To receive his fullness why not say a prayer such as this daily “Come O Creator, Spirit blessed and in our souls take up thy rest.” He acts as each person’s teacher and guide in this vale of tears. In your heart He plants the divine seed of grace and watches over its growth.
