Martin was always an inspiration to me and is one of the main reasons why I myself stayed in scouts, he really gave me the love of scouts from the age of ten to the present day. A big congratulations to our scout section on qualifying for the “Phoenix” – an All-Ireland camp skills competition, well done scouts and scouters, this is a first for our group and the group is very proud they qualified following the Slieve Bloom County Camp and indeed Martin would have been too. County Shield: Last weekend the Scouts took part in the Scout County Shield. What started out as a very wet and windy Friday turned into a beautiful sunny weekend for camping. The Scouts had to complete their entire site and lone camp for two days. They also had to take part in bases which tested them on their scout skills, scout knowledge and teamwork. After what was a very enjoyable weekend Our Scouts qualified for the Phoenix Challenge where they will compete against groups from All over Ireland. The scouts that took part were: PL: Mikey Fogarty, APL Oisin Dunne, Chloe Healy, Evan Campion, Edward OBrien, Dylan Parkinson, Eric Lawlor and Andrew Delaney. This is the first time since Durrow scouts formed that we had a Patrol qualify. Congratulations to them they have done us all very proud!
