DURROW MEALS-ON-WHEELS SERVICE: We require volunteers from Durrow and the surrounding areas to help out with meal deliveries. Dates can be arranged with a committee member to suit individual needs. This would only involve 2-3 days per month. The round takes approximately one hour. We are asking for volunteers to give 3 to 4 hours per month. SENIOR CITIZENS PARTY: The Party will be held on Saturday 6th March in the Castle Arms Hotel, commencing at 2.00pm with a four course meal followed by music and dancing. Invitations will be sent out over the coming weeks. If you know of someone who would wish to attend that we are not aware of please contact Eileen on (086) 0868017 or any member of the Community Council committee.

GLADRAGS CABARET CULLOHILL: The Parents Council of Scoil Tighearnach Naofa would like to sincerely thank all those who supported our ‘Gladrags Cabaret’ last weekend. It was a great night. Congratulations to our Best Dressed Winners. ‘Best Dressed Lady’ was Aishling Aylward. Runners up were Caitriona Phelan and Catriona Phelan Ellis. ‘Best Dressed Male’ was Paul Aylward. Runners Up were Gerry Murphy and Conor Deegan. Special thanks to Claire Johnston from Silver Swan Headwear who judged the competition and provide the amazing prizes of fascinators for the ladies. Congratulations to ‘Mr & Mrs’ winners Mick and Mary Killeen and to Gerry Murphy who added great fun as quizmaster. DURROW & DISTRICT BEFRIENDING GROUP: The Group will hold a Coffee Morning and Cake Sale on the weekend 27th/28th February in the Presentation Centre after the 7.00pm Mass on Saturday night and the 11.00am Mass on Sunday morning. This fundraiser is to help cover the running costs of the group. The Group has a good number of volunteers but always more needed to visit by request people in their homes who would like to avail of the service. For enquiries contact Patricia on 089 4649759. RALLY TO HIGHLIGHT FLOODS: People against floods will hold a national rally on Saturday 20th February in Golden Island shopping centre Athlone at 12 noon. All support possible is required for this important rally. Transport will be arranged. Contact (087) 2395357 for more.

ST PATRICKS DAY 2016: The Durrow St. Patrick’s Day parade will take place on 17th March 2016, there will be an open air country market on the green from 11am until 5pm along with bouncy castles and entertainment. The parade will take place at 2.00pm. All are welcome to join in both in the parade and also on the green to celebrate our first St. Patrick’s Day on the newly re-generated green. We hope that you can join us in the celebrations!

1916 RISING ANNIVERSARY: If anybody has any 1916 Memorabilia that they would like to display, on loan to the Durrow Museum, can you please contact Mary Walsh or any member of Durrow Development Forum regarding same. These items will be on loan only to the Museum and will be displayed there during the coming year and especially around Easter and around the Durrow Scarecrow Festival.
Durrow Scarecrow Festival: Anybody who would like to get involved in the Annual Durrow Scarecrow Festival or who has ideas for same, please do not hesitate to join us, many hands are needed to make the scarecrows and create the festival and we are more than happy to have you come on board the straw machine!

Home Baking from Bernie Brennan is also available with a selection of fresh breads, scones, tarts and cakes. You can also book cakes for parties etc…
