The Harps senior hurlers continued their recent run of form when beating Camross in the Palmer Cup on Thursday.  Played in Durrow, The Harps were up against a much weakened Camross side but with our own team missing quite a few players a performance was still needed to get a win.  Early scores from play by John Brophy and Eoin Clancy settled The Harps but Camross showed their renowned battling qualities to stay in the game with some good scores of there own.  On ten minutes The Harps were dealt a blow when John Brophy was forced off with a hamstring injury.  Unfazed by this, The Harps reeled off a string of scores courtesy of Pat Walsh, Shane Donoghue and Conor Deegan to extend the lead to five points at half time, 0-08 to 0-03.

Camross got off to the dream start just after half time when confusion in The Harps goal mouth resulted in a soft goal conceded.  The response from The Harps was emphatic however, as seven points on the trot ended the game as a contest as the home side moved up a gear.  Conor Deegan, Conor Dunne, John Prior, Conor Brophy and Eoin Clancy all posted good scores in this period of dominance, with the only answer at the other end a late consolation goal for Camross. Full Time: The Harps 0-16 v 2-03 Camross.

Tougher tests lie ahead for this team and all support will be needed for the first round of the league v Ballinakill this Saturday, March 26th at 5pm in Durrow.
