Members of the club took a trip to Wales with Thomastown Paddlers over the Easter weekend and had an action packed weekend of Kayaking and Paddling. Easter Saturday evening saw Laois Kayak and Canoe Club come second in the Munster Polo League, which was a great achievement especially as some of the team were in Wales kayaking. The Club took part in the Kilcullen Ranking Marathon Race on Sunday April 27th.

This coming Tuesday 29th April the club are holding an introduction to kayaking at 7pm on the bridge in Durrow for anyone outside the club who is interested in learning to paddle. Our qualified instructors and trainee instructors will show you some of the techniques and disciplines of paddling. The cost is €5 per person. Anyone interested should message us on Facebook or send an email to info@laoiskayak.com This is a perfect opportunity to try kayaking if you’ve not before or to get back into kayaking if you’ve let it lapse.
