anglingWith the trout fishing season off to a great start, everyone who fishes the club waters are reminded that a day permit is necessary to fish, otherwise full membership of the Durrow-Cullohill Parish anglers. Membership for season 2014 is now due and can be got in Lawlor’s Gala, The Square, Lawlor’s Flower Shop, Daybreak Store, The Square and Michael Walsh, Club secretary.
On Sunday March 30th the club held a trout fishing competition for the Billy Lawlor Memorial cup. There were some lovely fish weighed in and the winner was – Jonathan Stapleton, Second – Patrick O’Regan and Third – Alan Dwyer. U14s: First – Keelan Carroll; Second – Jack McGree; Third – Lee Coffey. The next competition will be held on Sunday April 13th for the Bill Kelly Memorial Cup for trout. The Club wishes Pat Dunphy and Tommy Coffey the best of good luck when they compete in the All-Ireland Pike fishing competition to be held in early April.
