Laois Kayak and Canoe Club – Late September 2016 Update
Liffey Descent: Wishing all our paddlers the very best of luck this Saturday 24th in the 57th International Liffey Descent, The race course is 28.2km consisting of 10 Weirs and 1 portage and will be both exciting and gruelling for the paddlers.
Paddlefest: Another great Paddlefest was participated in last week-end and well done to our instructors Brian, Fergal and Karl for their volunteering our Junior Paddlers, Holly and Niall who both had a great kayaking experience and to Ciaran, Edward, and Stephen who participated in the level 3 skills and smashed the Jackson falls, some great kayaking tips and new experiences and also a very enjoyable week-end was had by all.
Winter Pool Schedule: Advance notice of Winter Pool Schedule with Balto Kayak Club. The following Sunday’s are now confirmed. Learn to roll or just improve your skills in the warmth of Athy pool. Please confirm with Brian or Matt to reserve your place. Arrive for 5pm, on the water from 5.30pm to 6.30pm. The pool session dates are October 9th & 23rd, November 6th & 20th, December 4th & 18th, January 8th & 22nd, February 5th & 19th and March 5th & 19th.
Shorter Evenings: With the winter drawing in, paddling will now be at week-ends only and advance notice of events and meets will be on our Viber Group or on our Facebook page and Website. If you are interested in joining don’t forget that the next membership renewal date is 5th October and after that it will be May of next year to keep in sync with Canoeing Ireland.
