Laois Kayak and Canoe Club News – Late March 2019
LAOIS KAYAK AND CANOE CLUB: Club House: LKCC Club House will re-open soon after extensive improvement works to same. The work was made possible under the 2017 Sports Capital Programme with funding provided by the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport under the Sports Capital Programme. The work was sourced locally with Liam Campion Builders and LKCC would like to thank Mairead Phelan for adjoining land access which enabled easy restoration for the club. We would also like to thank Durrow Fire Service, PJ Alyward and the Bergin family for their patience whilst the work was carried out. We will have an opening day soon and notice of same will be advised at a later date.
An Adult Beginners Kayaking Course will take place from the 9th to 26th May, booking is through eventbrite and all information for same is on www.laoiskayak.com. All paddlers training and progression follows Canoeing Ireland’s skills award programme and the club can certify to this standard.
