LaoisKayakGalway and Kildare Racing – Well done to Matt McGrath who competed in the Galway Bay sea kayaking race on May 24th coming third in his division. Also to Rory McGrath competing in the 21k Blueway Canoe half marathon in Athy on the 31st May last.

Galway Canoe Polo Open – A golden goal in extra time by LKCC’s Brian Ogilvie secured third place for the club in their division at the Galway Canoe Polo Open last weekend. After 3 out of 4 wins on the first day, an unlucky loss in the knockout stages meant the team had to settle for third spot. Top goal scorers were Paul Byrne, Adrian Barber and Mikey Murphy with Brendan Murphy saving the shots in goal.

Junior Liffey Decent – Well done to all our young paddlers who competed in the Junior Liffey decent, an enduring race for all but thoroughly enjoyed.

Final First Training Course – A reminder that the level 2 kayaking skills assessment is on this Saturday 6th June. We are meeting at the Old Bridge in Durrow at 9.30am and will go on a river trip of about 3km – finishing around lunchtime. Please bring something to drink and some chocolate. Well done to all our kayakers who will complete the course on Saturday. Our second course starts on 29th July, check our website and Facebook for details.
