Plans are in place for the roll out of the Annual Laois Walks Festival which is now in its 14th year. This year’s program, which runs for the full month of July, includes 22 walks that will suit all ages and abilities. As part of this year’s festival we are delivering a “Leave no trace workshop” in Abbeyleix.  This 3.5 hr Experiential-based training in an outdoor setting will be delivered by an experienced Leave No Trace Ireland Tutor. Workshops are designed for educators, children, college students, outdoor professionals & Enthusiasts, Scout Leaders, trail crews, hiking club members and others interested in Leave No Trace skills and ethics. Participants receive introductory training in the skills and ethics of Leave No Trace including the concept of minimum impact recreation and the seven principles of Leave No Trace.
