LAOIS PPN: Laois Connects – “Promoting Health & Wellbeing” – SOS: Suicide or Survive – A Wellness Workshop is a day for you to take time out and learn a wide range of practical tools and tips that you can use in your everyday life to improve your own wellness. This one-day workshop aims to help you understand and take charge of your own mental health. The workshop is for anyone and everyone as we all have mental health! The Wellness Workshop is in line with Strategic Goals 1 and 3 of Connecting for Life:
Goal 1: To improve the nation’s understanding of, and attitudes to, suicidal behaviour, mental health and wellbeing; Goal 3: To target approaches to reduce suicidal behaviour and improve mental health among priority groups. This programme is run to the highest standards of practice and service delivery and is underpinned by an evaluation framework as required by ‘Connecting for Life’.

PILATES CLASSES: Classes continue in Cullohill Community Centre on Tuesdays from 1.30pm until 2.30pm. The classes will run until Tuesday, October 23rd. All are welcome.

ZUMBA CLASSES HAVE RESUMED! I would like to welcome you all to my Zumba dance class every Wednesday from 8pm until 9pm in Durrow’s Community Centre, regardless of age, gender or fitness level. Just grab a friend and come join me for an exciting and fun workout like no other. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t tried Zumba yet this class is definitely for you. So come and give it a try as you never know you might enjoy yourself. Class fee €5 per hour. Children go free of charge. Hope to see you soon.

USED CLOTHES COLLECTION: Another Collection is being organised for this October so anyone who wishes to contribute bags of clean clothes can leave them into the Community Hall any morning, Monday to Friday. All in aid of the National Council for the Blind and Durrow Community Centre. Your support will be much appreciated.

ART CLASSES: Adult Art Classes are resuming in the Library in Durrow in the evenings. One class is fully booked already but if you wish make enquiries about another class, please contact Marie on (086) 3136028 Classes are open to all levels, materials provided.

DURROW CHOIR Voicem Daru: Welcome back to our choir after your long hot summer which I hope you enjoyed. We will continue rehearsals every Tuesday evening at 7.30pm in Castle Arms Hotel. I welcome you back and look forward to seeing you all in great voice. The group are preparing for a Coral Festival in Cork in May 2019 so it is very important that every member of this group attend these practice nights. For details, phone Ann (086) 6045409.

PARENT AND TODDLER GROUP: The group meets in the Presentation Hall, Durrow on Tuesdays from 9.30am.
