This year sees Ms. O’Shea returning to 1st Class and Ms. Neary moves to 2nd Class. 4th & part of 5th Class will be under the guidance of Ms. Connolly with the remainder of 5th Class and 6th Class being prepared for the move to Secondary School by Ms. Dunne.

One-Way System: Please keep the zebra crossing clear at ALL times and we encourage all parents and children to cross safely by using the zebra crossing. Could we please ask parents to obey the one way traffic system that is in place on the green which is inbound at Castledurrow and outbound at Daybreak.

Durrow Parish Lotto: Our major fundraiser each year is the schools participation in the Durrow Parish Lotto. The more tickets we sell through the school the bigger return we receive each month. Over the past 24 months profits from the school lotto have been used to purchase new Aistear Equipment & PE Equipment. The current jackpot stands at well over €3,000. To make it easier for you, we have been running a pay-ahead system for the last number of years. The school year is divided into four pay-ahead periods and you can choose which pay-ahead period you wish to subscribe to. Once your completed form and payment has been received, the Parents Council will fill-out your ticket and ensure your weekly entry in the lotto draw!

Cycling: This year once again, The Parent’s Council will subsidise the Cycling Skills training for fifth class students. This will commence on Tuesday, the 7th of November and run for four weeks!

School Mass: Start of Year Mass will take place on Sunday 15th October at 11am with the School sponsored walk taking place in Dunmore Woods at 12 noon. All funds raised will be used to update and replace the computer equipment in the school.

Parent’s Council: The Parents Council are on the lookout for new Members and always welcome a helping hand. The time commitment is limited with a meeting perhaps once every two months. If you would like to get involved or know more please contact Helen in the School Office. All Help and Assistance would be Greatly Appreciated.

Cumann na mBunscol: We wish both the boys and girls the very best of luck in this years football competitions. To date the boys have won both of their matches, with the girls playing their second match shortly. Here’s hoping we’ll get a day out in O’Moore Park and lift the silverware once again! We would like to thank Ciaran Muldowney, Laois Gaa, who is doing hurling and camogie skills training each Tuesday with 1st & 2nd Class boys and girls.
