Strictly-Come-DancingLast Wednesday night many of the contestants in the upcoming Strictly Come Dancing met with Diane Purcell – the dance instructor who will be teaching, advising and assisting the contestants for the event. Diane gave a very positive information evening and banished any few worries and apprehensions the contestants may have had. An exciting campaign awaits the dancers in the months ahead as they prepare to give the parish of Durrow and Cullohill the show of their lifetime!

The contestants will be out and about with sponsorship cards and running mini-fundraising events over the summer and we appeal to everyone to support them as much as possible. A new facebook page: “Strictly DDF & Harps Dancing” has been setup where you can keep up-to-date on the build up to the show – make sure you like the page and invite your friends to like it too! The web browser address is: www.facebook.com/strictlyddfharps for laptops and PCs.

An important meeting will be held on Thursday evening 14th May at 8.30pm at the library in Durrow, to confirm dance partners and to explore fundraising ideas. It is very important that all dancers attend.

Finally, we are still looking for more people to join and become contestants – if you are shy about joining, have a look at the facebook page to see a list of active contestants, you may know a few there who would help you feel right at home in the group. For more information on the event please contact Daniel Dunne (087) 4103520 or Evelyn Clancy on (087) 9194428.
