Third Laois Durrow Scouts News – November 2018
THIRD LAOIS DURROW SCOUTS: Works on our Den have started in the last few weeks. The roof is being fully repaired and reinstated. It is a listed building and we are trying to keep the building as authentic as possible. It a big job as the building used to be the Infant school back in 1880. It has had many uses since, such as more recently a Snooker hall and a Youth Club. The Scouts are very privileged to now call it their home. We would like to thank all the people who have bought the newsletter or Parish Lotto tickets over the years as this has been a part of the fundraising. We also received grants from Laois County Council, The National Lottery, and LCDC and generous donations from families and businesses.
We have been granted the permission to do a church gate collection this weekend and hope to gather the last funds to cover the cost for the works. We thank you once again for your ongoing generous contributions. Yours in Scouting. All the Youth and Adult Scouts in Third Laois Durrow.
