Tuesday – Closed;
Wednesday – 1pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm;
Thursday – Closed;
Friday – 10.30am to 12.30pm;
Saturday – 11am to 1pm (closed on the Saturday of Bank Holiday Weekends);
Sunday – Closed.
Library Services: The following services are offered… Adult Fiction and Non-Fiction Books; Young Adult Section; Juvenile Fiction and Non-Fiction Books; Large Print Books; Audio Cassettes & Talking Books; Local & National Newspapers; Sheet Music; Music CDs; DVDs; Government Publications; Information Leaflets; Internet Access; Photocopying Service and Scanning Service.
Reference and Information Services: The library has a modern range of reference facilities for study and research purposes. We also provide an online reference service where you can access over 100 publications. These include http://www.xreferplus.com/login.jsp – other online resources include Vision-Net and LexisNexis.
Membership Charges: Adults and Third Level Students – €15 per Year; Social Welfare Recipients – €5 per Year; OAPs – €0; Children – €0. All members must register Annually. Proof of address and ID must be presented when joining the library.
Important Notice: Items can be borrowed for a period of three weeks and may be renewed for a further period provided they are not required by other members. DVDs and Videos can be borrowed for one week. Books, CDs and tapes will attract a fine of 50c per item per week or part thereof for late returns, whilst DVDs and Videos will attract a fine of 50c per day.
Requests: Requests for items can be made at the desk or online by checking the library catalogue at www.laois.ie/libraries - to request an item online you will require a PIN number – for further details please ask library staff.
Borrowbooks: If the item is not in stock in any of the library branches throughout Laois, requests can be made through www.borrowbooks.ie online. This service provides people with the opportunity to request an item from any of the counties mentioned and it will be sent to your local library.
