A great week for the club with victories for our U12, U14 and Senior girls:
Our U12 girls were in goal scoring mode against St. Brigids on Saturday last scoring an amazing 12-01 and also keeping Brigids scoreless. This was the girls first game of the championship and let’s hope they keep it up. They play Portlaoise this weekend. Good luck girls.
Our U14 girls are coming near the business end of the season and have qualified for the semi finals. They remain unbeaten in the championship so far with their last game against championship favourites Portlaoise on Wednesday 6th July in Rathleague at 7.30pm. Good luck girls. The semi-finals are fixed for the 20th July.
Our Senior girls began their championship campaign against St. Brigids in Durrow on Wednesday night. This is a very young team with many girls making their senior debut but this did not faze the girls as they win the game with just a point to spare over St. Brigids. A great start for all involved. The next championship match is on Wednesday 13th July against Naomh Padraig.
The senior girls are also competing in the Laois summer league (played without county girls) and this begins on Sunday morning at 10.45am in Durrow against O’Moores.
Well done to Louise, Elaine and Joan on their victory with Laois over Antrim in the first round of the Intermediate Championship. Their next game is on 9th July away to Wexford.
