CULLOHILL FOROIGE CLUB: A big congratulations to Cullohill Foróige Club on winning the ‘The Best Display’ Award at the Foroige Citizenship Awards this year for the South East Region. They had a brilliant time at the event which was held last Saturday, May 24th in the Naas Library & Cultural Centre. It was 1 out of 8 Awards won out of a total of 29 participants! DOG WALKERS! A reminder to clean up after your dog. We have Mutt Mitt dispensers and instructions on how to clean up after your dog, throughout Durrow. Dog fouling is a serious health risk and children can easily not see it and bring indoors on bikes, shoes, buggies and it’s a particular hazard to wheelchair users. If you’d like to become a green dog walker we have information in the Post Office and Library regarding the initiative. Please be responsible and clean up after your pet!

Please note that ALL dogs must be kept on a lead, without exception on the Leafy Loop in Durrow, this includes Dunmore, Clonageera, Bishops Wood, Derry Wood, Knockatrina and The Course. The Leafy Loop traverses across Coillte Woodlands and Farmlands with protected species and farm animals. Your Dog is not an exception to be left off a lead.

IRISH CANCER SOCIETY: The Irish Cancer Society’s Transport Service is seeking compassionate volunteer drivers in your community. Your time can help to continue the vital service of providing transport for patients attending cancer treatment appointments. If you have a minimum of two days per month to spare, a valid driving license, and a safe, reliable vehicle, you’re the perfect candidate to make a significant difference. Your generosity can ease the journey for many during a challenging time, offering comfort and support when it’s needed most.
Full training will be provided. There are a number of essential post-drive administration tasks that will require either existing knowledge of basic computer or IT skills, or the willingness to acquire such skills (such as scanning and uploading documents or attending virtual meetings). Unfortunately, we don’t have accurate knowledge about all of our parishioners from Durrow and Cullohill who are in Nursing Homes. I’m asking if you have a relative or know of someone from the parish in any Nursing Home or long-term care centre to please let us know. POC FADA: Following on from Tony’s Leinster title success last year, the Harps Juvenile Club will be holding an internal Poc Fada competition across four grades: Under 9; Under 11; Under 13 and Under 16. The winner of each grade will receive a trophy and will be The Harps Poc Fada Champion for 2025. While the winner of the under 16 Grade will have the opportunity to go forward and compete at county level for 2025. Location – The Harps Pitch in Durrow; Time – 5pm; Date – Saturday 7th June. LAOIS CAMOGIE: The Harps Camogie Club were well represented on the Laois Development Panels last weekend (May 24th and 25th) with Maggie Duggan, Danielle Jacobs, Madeline Mockler, Jane Murphy, Laoise Alyward, Aoife Holland, Hannah Dunne, Ashling Mahoney, Muireann O’Shaughnessy, Elaine Brennan and Sophie Lennon training hard and playing well with the U14 panels and Grace O’ Shaughnessy doing the same with the U15’s.
