Durrow Library News – Culture Night 2019 🗓
DURROW LIBRARY: Huge congratulations to all the young Lego inventors who participated in the Lego Scarecrow competition held in Durrow Library and supported by the DDF and Laois Libraries. We had over a hundred entries but in the end only six winners! Details and photographs of the winning entries can be found on the Laois Libraries and the Forum Facebook page.
Animation: If any young people aged 8 to 14 are interested in learning stop-go animation using Lego please get in touch with us. Following the success of last year’s Lego film festival at the Dunamaise Arts Centre Durrow library will hopefully entering one or two new films and need your help!
Culture Night is fast approaching! Durrow library will be hosting ‘Durrow in the Dark’ a salon night of light classical and popular music presented by violinist and violist Ali Comerford and Pianist Anna Callahan. Tickets are free but limited so get in touch on lmoriarty@laoiscoco.ie or call into the library. The concert is on the 20th of September at 8pm.
The Chatty Crafting Group in the library is going from strength to strength! Meeting at the library every Tuesday from 2pm-4pm. Come for the crochet and stay for the chats!
Lego Free Play Sessions are being held every Saturday from 11am to 12 midday. Duplo is available for younger builders!
