Durrow Library News – Late March 2019
DURROW LIBRARY: The library opening times have been slightly adjusted lately. Tuesdays: 1.30pm to 5pm and 6pm to 8pm; Wednesdays: 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 6pm; Saturdays: 11am to 1pm.
The Irish Conversation Group continues to meet on Mondays at 8pm. All levels of Irish and ages are welcome!
The Craft Group continues from strength to strength on Tuesdays from 2pm to 4pm. Crochet, knitting, embroidery, lace work and cross stitch. All crafts really are welcome to come and work and share tips and tricks. Tea and Coffee provided.
The Lego Film Club will start again soon so if anyone has children or teenagers over the age of ten interested please get in touch. This year the Lego film awards have gone All-Ireland so we want to get working on our piece as soon as possible. Places will be limited. A Lego free play session will start up on Saturday mornings from 11am for an hour. Unlike previous versions of our Lego sessions this will be an unstructured hour of playing with Lego ideal for younger children. Some large blocks will be available for the very young. Parents are encouraged to stay and join in. Places limited so get in touch if interested!
Storytelling: We look forward to seeing some of the junior pupils from Our Lady’s Meadow on the 10th of April for a storytelling session with Dolores Keaveney! It should be a lovely event as part of the ‘Spring into Storytime’ initiative. Plenty of books are available from the library to encourage little ones in their love of books! Don’t hesitate to call in or ask for suggestions.
Creche: Recently the Pre-schoolers from Happy Days Creche visited the library and explored the book collection for younger readers! It was wonderful to see the fun and enjoyment they got out of looking at all the books and having stories read to them! Hope to see them soon again!
Membership: All library memberships and events are free of charge. Fines have recently been removed completely. Call in and discover the wealth of fiction, non fiction books and huge array of online resources your library membership includes. Contact Lmoriarty@laoiscoco.ie or (057) 8736090 or call in!
