Laois Kayak and Canoe Club – Late February 2017 Update
LAOIS KAYAK AND CANOE CLUB: Pool Sessions: Pool sessions continue this coming Sunday evening February 19th at Athy pool from 5.30pm. Its a great opportunity to practice your roll and technique.
Galway Fest 2017: Registration for Galway Fest 2017 is now open and on Friday the 10th of March there will be a talk about whitewater kayaking in Afghanistan. The talk and trip movie is not one to be missed and will take place at 8pm in NUIG Campus before heading to the The Cellar Bar in Galway to kickstart Galway Fest 2017. Kayakers can participate in both Whitewater and Freestyle. We wish club member the best of luck at the events.
Freestyle Team Trials 2017: The Freestyle 2017 Irish Team Trials will take place in Nottingham this year, interested freestylers should contact the Irish Freestyle Team page directly for further details.
Durrow Scarecrow Festival 2017: LKCC are really excited to again be involved in this years scarecrow festival. It’s an event not to be missed and is a huge asset to the community as a whole. We look forward to assisting Durrow Development Forum in the different events and to seeing you all over the festival.
Interested in Kayaking: As is standard and due to the shorter evenings, paddling will now be on at the weekends only. If you are interested in taking up paddling, we will be having training sessions in the coming months as the evenings get longer and these sessions are a perfect opportunity to try it out.
