LAOIS 2016 COMMEMORATION PLAN: The plan for how communities across Laois will commemorate the Centenary of the 1916 Rising will be formally launch on 26th November at 7.30pm in Áras an Chontae, Portlaoise. All are most welcome to attend.

SOCIAL DANCE CLASSES: Social Dance classes continue at the Community Hall, Johnstown on Wednesday nights from 8.30pm in a social atmosphere, while losing weight and tone the muscles you can learn the old time waltz, the quick step, the jive, the foxtrot, the slosh and many other dances. HEDGE CUTTING: Landowners are reminded by Laois County Council that the period for Hedge Cutting runs from 1st September 2015 to the 29th February, 2016. Landowners have a responsibility to ensure that hedges, ditches, trees or any other vegetation growing on their land are not nor could not become a danger to individuals using or working on a public road. Hedgerows along the public road that require cutting or trimming back should be cut immediately and all cuttings moved… Many thanks.
