Huge congratulations to Ms Dunne and the boys from 5th & 6th classes on their great victory earlier this term in the Cumann na mBunscol football finals. The boys worked very hard to earn victories all through the league to top the table earning them a spot in the final. Their opponents Derrylamogue, with whom they had a very tough league encounter ,fought hard to overturn the league toppers but the team dug deep and their hard work paid off with the well deserved victory. The boys celebrated in style and earned the whole school a night off homework. The following day the team was presented to the school at assembly and they visited each classroom to show off their silverware.

The pupils of Junior and Senior Infants were treated to a great surprise on Monday 30th November. Coleen from Pet Connections in Portlaoise visited the school and brought a variety of friends with her. Among the beautiful pets were dwarf hamsters, guinea pigs, gerbils, turtles, fish, rabbits, budgies, canaries, finches and a ginger kitten. Where possible the pupils were allowed to pet the animals and hold them. It was a terrific and calming experience for all involved( hopefully the animals felt that way too). Coleen gave the children a short talk on how to look after the pets and answered the many questions the children had. Please support her shop if you have any pet requirements in the future! Her visit was free of charge and very much appreciated by all!
