Scouts busy with Trips
On Friday 11th of April our Chief Scout Award Beavers took part in their shared camp in Sarhan. The camp was shared with Beavers from Roscrea. Over the duration of the camp our Beavers completed their 10km hike in three hours. Well done to Amy, Shannon, Andrew, Michael, Brandon, Louchlan and Will, all of them were great. We would like to thank our fellow scouters in Roscrea for the link. This Sunday we have members of Wednesday and Friday Beavers taking part in the Slieve Bloom Beaver Challenge. This is a competition event and we would like to wish them all the best of luck. Next year this event will be a qualifier for a National Event.
On the May Bank holiday our Senior Patrol of scouts will head to Charvielle Estate in Tullamore, where they will compete against other groups in the Slieve Bloom County. All groups are fighting for a place in the Phoenix National final which will be held in August. This is the first time in a long number of years that the group will actually compete. Last year we entered as Novices in order to gain the experience. Best of luck to them all. Over the duration of the weekend our scouts will be marked on site layout, camp, craft, cooking and working on base events such as air, water, backwoods and emergencies.
