Sister Imelda Carew laid to Rest

Many past pupils of Presentation National School and St. Fintan’s College Durrow will have many happy memories of Sr. Imelda Carew, who with a colleague lost her life in a tragic swimming accident in Co. Kerry last week. Sr. Imelda taught pupils in both primary and Secondary school in Durrow during the late 1960s and early 1970s. She was very highly respected by the students and all in Durrow extend to her family and to the Presentation Sisters our heartfelt sympathy and sadness. Many of her past pupils attended her funeral in Mountmellick recently.
