Patricks-ParadeThe St. Patricks Festival was a great success with some nerves in the  morning as there was a smattering of rain but it soon cleared up. The parade was led by the Civil Defence with Jack Murphy as grand marshal and St. Patrick leading the huge variety of floats which included many of the local sports clubs, an array of vintage vehicles, some of the businesses in the town, loads of smiling happy children, visitors, locals and participants who entertained the many spectators on the day.

It was a very difficult decision for the judges but Dunmore Community Alert came First with Happy Days Crèche Second and Top Gear from Conahy coming Third. Durrow Development Forum would especially like to thank the three Judges, Reverent Patrick Harvey, Andrew Walsh and Aileen Phelan.

The day was very enjoyable on the green with the open air market, craft stalls, bouncy castles and Gary Games providing a variety of entertainment for everybody. The Harps Juveniles also played matches on the green and these were enjoyed by everybody.

The day saw many visitors and especially many people who had left Durrow over the previous years and had especially come back with their own families to join in the celebrations on the day. Durrow Development Forum would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the participants in the parade, the volunteers, the stewards, the judges, the local community and all the visitors, for making this St. Patricks Festival another success.
