Folly preparations are in full swing in Cullohill as this weekend’s festival fast approaches. Tickets are available for the event online www.thefolly.ie/tickets and in Bergin’s Gala, Cullohill. The line up for Friday July 19th is confirmed as Hermitage Green, Wyvern Lingo, The Finns and Sarah Buckley.
Saturday sees The 2 Johnnies (family music show c. 9pm), Curtis Walsh, Alice Lynskey and Vocalese take to the stage. Weekend tickets are €40 and tickets for one night are €25. Children under 14 are free with a ticket holding adult, max 2 children per adult.
A ticket is not required for the daytime events on Sat 20 th but some events have a nominal charge. The programme includes a guided mountain walk, Dog Show, Vintage Car Rally, Artisan Food and craft market and Art Exhibition. Once again the castle will host ‘Family Fun at Nancy’s Yard’ from 12pm until 4.30pm. Entry is €5 per child and includes all activities e.g face painting, bouncing castles, inflatable human football table, Brian Daly Magician, Clown Jeca, Hurling shot out and much more.
New events for this year include ‘The Great Folly Bake’ which will be judged by Anna May McHugh; Adventure Race 6km trail run and 24km cycle; Feast of Irish Beef in association with Bord Bia.
Celebrity guests, comedian Bernard O’Shea and former rugby international Alan Quinlan will also join in the fun on Saturday. Full details are available on www.thefolly.ie online.
