Thoughts for the day

If we could plan our lives there’d be no trials, no tears, no loss.
But then how should we ever learn the meaning of the Cross?
If all went well we’d never need to kneel and close our eyes and never
learn about the thigs that make us strong and wise.

**************************

Just keep going – knowing that you’ll get there in the end.
Must keep showing you believe there’s something round the bend.
Many falter when misfortune’s icy winds come blowing – but those who live to reach their goals are those who just keep going.

Durrow Development Forum, Durrow Community Council & Durrow Tidy Towns

Committees were outraged when they learned on Wednesday last 20th May the The National Roads Signs Authority were in the process of erecting HUGE directional signs all over Durrow. Laois County Council’s plan for Durrow was for traditional signage and members of the three local organisations absolutely agree with this idea. They believe that the N.R.A. signs would totally destroy the town. On Thursday 21st May a number of local people formed a protest and prevented the work from proceeding any further. Councillor Eamon Rafter was asked to contact the County Council immediately and get them to stop the N.R.A from going ahead with this work.
We hope Laois County Council will look favourably on this request.
