DURROW PARISH NEWSLETTER

COMPILED BY THE DURROW SCOUTS

THAT YOUR DAYS MAY BE BLESSED

What shall we ask of the year that is dawning? What shall we hope as we face the new day? What shall we ask on the very first morning? What shall we wish and for what should we pray? … Ask for an eye that is open to beauty. Ask for a faith that no bludgeon can break. Ask for the patience to do every duty with a good humour that nothing can shake.

Now at this time of the year’s new beginning, pray for these gifts. They outweigh all the rest. For without these there is naught worth the winning. Ask for these things that your days may be blessed.

********************

Open the windows of our minds that we may catch the morning light. Grant us, Lord, a wide horizon, and a vision broad and bright. Give us eyes to seek for beauty and a heart to understand. ears to hear the voice of conscience, feet to run at Love’s command.
