DURROW COMMUNITY CENTRE: A big thank you to the local ladies who participated in the Flora Women’s Mini-Marathon on June Bank Holiday Monday. The ladies raised a total of €345 for Durrow Community Centre. Thanks to everyone who sponsored the ladies, it is very much appreciated.

DURROW FADO WRITERS GROUP: Presents “Midsummer Moments” – a cultural celebration in words and music at Bowe’s Café and Foodhall on Saturday June 21st. Doors open at 7.15pm with the event commencing at 8pm sharp. Tickets €10. Please book early as limited numbers are available. RACE NIGHT: It’s that time of year again! The Harps GAA Club will host their annual Race Night on Saturday, July 12th in O’Connells Bar, Cullohill Village. All players and committee members will be selling race cards over the coming weeks and your support would be greatly appreciated.

Congratulations to Lions AFC U13 boys who for the second season in a row have won their league. After winning Division 3 last season they went on to win Division 2 last Wednesday evening in Graignamanagh after a 2-2 draw with home team Highview athletic. This is a great achievement for the boys, their manager and the club. We wish them all the best in U14 Division 1 for the 2014/15 season.

KNOCK PILGRIMAGE: The annual Pilgrimage from Cullohill will take place on Tuesday July 1st and more details will be given later.

VITA: Vita is celebrating the 25th Anniversary of it’s founding by Fr. Kevin Doheny on Sunday, July 13th commencing with Mass at 3pm at the Doheny Homestead, Ballinalacken, Ballinakill. All are welcome.

FAMILY TREE HEALING MASS: A family tree healing Mass, celebrated by Fr. George, will be held in St Peter & Pauls Church on Friday June 20th at 7pm. NOVENA: The Novena to the Sacred Hearth of Jesus starts on Monday June 16th, Mass and Novena at 8pm each evening until Friday night June 20th and it will resume on Monday June 23rd until Thursday night June 26th.

JOHNSTOWN ACTIVE RETIREMENT: There are two trips organised by the Johnstown Active Retirement Group and there will be pickups in both Cullohill and Durrow. On Wednesday June 25th there will be an outing to Glasnevin and Croke Park and on Thursday July 17th there is a trip organised to Portumna Workhouse and a Cruise on the Shannon. Both trips can be booked through Breda Dunne on (056) 8831109. There will be pick up arranged on the route.
