Laois-Kayak-and-Canoe-Club-bMarathon Ranking Race in Celbridge: Club members will take part in the Celbridge Marathon ranking race this Sunday 10th May. There will be a novice race for our recent beginners and we wish all club member the very best of luck.
Kayaking on the Erkina: An enjoyable nights kayaking was had on the Erkina on Wednesday night, the rain held off for the duration of the nights training for Marathon Racing and Freestyle Kayaking.
Water Polo: Well done to Laois Kayak & Canoe Club’s Polo team on winning their division at Phizzfest in Dublin this weekend. The team was Brian O, Mick Q, Paul B, Antonio T and thanks to Anthony & Tracey from Kilcullen Canoe Club for playing with us.
Summer Kayaking Schedule: The club will have two intakes for beginner/introduction kayaking this summer. These will take place on a Wednesday night starting 13th May until the 3rd June from 7pm to 9pm with a maximum number of ten people. Juniors will be €70 and Seniors will be €80 for the course. Level 2 assessment for this course is on Saturday 6th June. Payment includes: Canoeing Ireland Membership (one year), LKCC Membership (one year), Level 1/2 Kayaking Skills Assessment, four evenings kayaking training and use of kayaking equipment. The second intake of training will take place from 29th July until the 19th August with assessment on Saturday 22nd August. These lessons must be pre-booked on our website.
