DIOCESE OF OSSORY SAFEGUARDING SUNDAY, WEEKEND OF 23rd and 24th of NOVEMBER 2019: This weekend, 23rd and 24th November 2019 – the Feast of Christ the King – is designated by the Church in Ossory as Diocesan Safeguarding Awareness Weekend. During the weekend the Church focuses on the importance of safeguarding children/vulnerable adults of our faith community and the importance of ensuring good safeguarding practice throughout the Diocese.

Good Safeguarding practice is a priority in our parishes, our schools and in all sporting and cultural organisations. It is important for all of us who work with children and vulnerable adults to ensure our safeguarding practice is up to date and in line with national requirements. Good safeguarding practice is integral to ministry – it is not an option.

Copies of the Diocesan Safeguarding Newsletter, Parish Activities, Role of Safeguarding Representative – Cherishing our Children, will be distributed by the Parish Safeguarding Representatives after Masses this weekend.
