We will be having our Registration Night for the new season on Friday 16th September, between 7.30pm and 9.30pm in Knock Hall, Spink. This night coincides with Culture Night, so there will be a free concert by members of Spink Comhaltas. We will also have the opportunity for anyone interested in the instrument bank to take a look at the instruments available, and to try them out. We have exciting plans for this year, and as part of these plans, Spink will have a second teacher to support the musical development of our members.

Please encourage your family and friends/neighbours to come along to the concert. Can you also encourage anyone who is thinking about learning traditional Irish music (adults as well as children) to come along so they can talk to us on the evening. Finally, if you are an existing member and are planning to renew your membership this year but cannot attend registration, please confirm by email to ccespink@gmail.com and let us know that you are renewing. Classes re-commence on Friday 23rd September, and we need to know our expected numbers for final preparation for this date. Look forward to seeing you on the 16th September!

Update: The Committee of Spink branch are delighted to all know that this year we will have a second teacher. We have taken the decision to invest in a second teacher to build on the progress we have made in the last few years, and in particular, to give more time and attention to the younger musicians to help them get established. Yvonne Bolton will join Paula Dowling as part of the teaching team this year.  Yvonne is a former member of Spink, and is a very accomplished musician specialising in concertina and fiddle, as well as having a strong background in other instruments. This is a significant and exciting step for Spink branch, and one which we believe is going to continue to develop Spink into one of the best Comhaltas branches in the country.
